Did you rinse the baskets before putting in the tank?
Did you rinse the sand before putting in the tank?
How/where did you mix the salt?
New tank? Rinsed? Equiptment new? Rinsed?
Lots of questions. SG?
Could be from almost anything.

Did you rinse the baskets before putting in the tank? yes
Did you rinse the sand before putting in the tank? no in directions said don't rinse caribean live sand
How/where did you mix the salt? salt water is 3 weeks old before introduced to the tank
New tank? Rinsed? Equiptment new? Rinsed? every thing in tank is brand new and rinsed
Lots of questions. SG? SG?
Salinty 35.2
temp 80 degrees

the stuff is all over the rocks and wont stay on the sand

I had something similar when I first set up my tank. No matter how much of it I siphoned out, tank would produce more. To best of my knowledge just a bacteria bloom.

Was so gross, like an army of people with covid blowing snot bubbles in my tank. YUCK!!

SG=specific gravity. = salinity
Dry rock or live? Can you blow it off easily?

It should go away on its own but I would get as much out as you can every few days.

sorry not in the army anymore so I don't look for acronyms, thank you for clarifying

no live rock in the tank yet, just dry rock

it can be blown off with turkey baster

What do you mean it stays on the Rocks but yet you have no live rock? So you're saying you have dead rock?
