As my tank is maturing I am noticing gradual increase in white particles in the water colum, Running socks helps some but not really.. I have a hugh population of various kind of Pods now that I added few months ago so this is part of it. However, few days ago when i shut down the return pump to feed my corals the sump was filled with stringy material. I thought it was larvae at first but looks like some gunk buildup in the return line after 3 months. Never seen this in over 10+ years in reefing so I am puzzle...

If you look closely at the picture against the black background you can see it.

Sorry, I'm not seeing it.

Are you doing any carbon dosing or bacteria supplements ?

Thank you. But I'd need to see detail of the organisim to Id it. I can only make out white flecks.

Just dosing acropower, large sump with established LR, Miracle mud fuge cheato, bag of chemi-pure. Pretty simple setup.

There's defiantly some pods I can see them

I suppose it's could be bacterial colonies. Acro power is aminos and bacteria do like that.

I believe you are right about Acropower - its coming from the pipes!.. Even with filter socks I still see a lot of white stuff (Pods included).

I did add pods that are good for corals and clams, so if I get unprecedented growth - I'll learn to live with it :)
