I came home to a white stringy substance coming out of my brain coral this evening. This coral has been growing well and all other corals in the tank seem to be in good health and growing. Can anyone give me an idea what's going on? Pictures are attached.

Is it coming out of the mouth? Sometimes when they're not happy they'll put out filaments to clean their stomach. Otherwise looks like some damage. Do you feed it. If not, I'd start every other day to help repair the damage.

It is difficult to see what may be going on there. It looks like a tiny tear in the tissue. Is the coral next to a sharp place in the rock? Or maybe a critter got to it.

It is not coming from the mouth, it was coming from the rim above the mouth. It's not close enough to be stung by any other corals either. I do feed it normally twice a week. The placement of the coral is right against a rock and since the growth it has been showing maybe it rub against the rock is that possible? 30 minutes after I posted I checked on it again and the substance was nearly gone.
