So i put a rock from my LFS in my tank a few weeks back after I let it set out and bake in the sun and let it sit in water with power heads, and under the rock there is this white clear like stringy maybe algae that is all over a flat rock that the new rock is sitting on!! Can someone tell me what this is or is it harmful??

Probably a bacterial bloom, which are common in saltwater, or a fungus. You can test it by applying methylene blue to the growth. Fungus will turn blue; bacteria will not. If it is bacterial, it will disappear on its own within a few days or so, just like bacterial blooms in the water column do over time.

I bought it dry and it was from the ocean so I knew there was dead stuff on it and just to make me feel better I just went thru the whole process of killing anything else on it and rinsed it, although people told me it would be alright to rinse off and put in, but I went thru the whole process! Than put it in tank water with power head to cure a little and when readings hit 0 I put it in

I noticed this white hairy stuff around my power heads one morning after dosing alk , and I thought it was the all, I cleaned my power heads that morning, and now I see it under this rock! Weird....

Have anyone of you two ever had this white clearish hairy stuff before?
Yep. Had it in my DT while it was cycling. I brushed it off the rocks with a toothbrush. Turned up the powerheads. Changed filter socks. Water change. A little bit came back in a few days. Brushed again, etc. and that was the end of it. Start to finish about 2 weeks if my memory is correct.

OK good deal, thanks a bunch

Yes i had the same stuff while i was cycling and it kind of runs its course. I did notice that it was brought on when i did some painting in another area of the house or when my wife sprayed lysol like a mad women cause our baby was sick so keep in mind that chemicals and cleaners in very small doses can bring on bacterial blooms as well.
