White stringy substance on chaeto

Did you try touching it? Does it dissolve?

Honestly seems like filter floss that got carried into the refugium

does it fall off when you touch it or is it hard fibers? If hard fibers then like someone else mentioned maybe filter floss but if just falls apart when its more than likely "white slime" bacteria. We have a whole article about white slime you can checkout. Its not the the end of the world but if it is then take care of it sooner rather than later.
