White stringy substance

I just noticed this white stringy stuff under my Pulsing Zenia plug. Is this part of the Zenia trying to spread or something different? I tried searching and couldn't find anything that fit the description. I don't see it anywhere else in the tank.

sponge. don’t recall which one specifically. i had this come with a frag of GSP. didn’t really do much

It's a sponge - generally they're harmless filter feeders unless they're growing over and smothering your corals.

Its a poriferan sponde called clatharina and can grow and get invasive. Best is to pull it (if possible in a container of tank water ) with a dental pick or small crochet needle.
Other option is to inject via syringe with vinegar which will shrink it down.
