White stuff on my glass

I had my tank for a little over 3 months right now and there is some white stuff growing all on the glass and I just can’t remove it
Please post a pic or two of tank showing this substance as it will be mere guesses as to what you have

I do use this thing to get my kh up

As suspected- this appears to be a new tank and looks like the powdery sediment from new rock and sand. You can easily blow it lose with gentle bursts from a turkey baster or wipe with a CLEAN sponge

Okay I will try that thanks

Hard to tell from the pic but it could be CaCO3 precipitate, especially if you're dosing an alkalinity booster. My tank is younger than yours and I haven't experienced powder due to sand/rock. I also don't think that would be so difficult to remove.

What are your Ca + KH levels at? Water can only hold so much of these substances, so if either/both are in excess, supersaturation occurs and they can no longer be dissolved. Supersaturation isn't a problem at low levels or with sufficient Mg --- the former won't result in visible precipitate and the latter prevents it from crystallizing in the first place. With high Ca/KH but insufficient Mg, calcium and carbonate ions interact to form CaCO3, which is insoluble in water and "grows" on surfaces as a powdery white solid.

Also check that you aren't mixing your salt water too quickly and that the mix itself hasn't gotten wet (will form rocky clumps). Either of these can contribute to CaCO3 precipitation; my tank gets stubborn buildup due to moisture in my salt mix.

My kh is at 11 and I buy salt water which is already mixed

It's possible you may be seeing CaCO3 then, my KH is around there too and I get some precipitate. Looks a lot like your stuff in the pic too.

Do you have corals? What's your reason for dosing the alk booster --- why are you trying to raise it?

When I set up the aquarium my kh was low but after I used it 3 times I stopped

And I do have corals a zoa, mushroom and Kenya tree

How low? Soft corals don't use as much Ca/alk as stony corals do --- they still use some but I don't think it should be enough to deplete your alk to the point of having to dose

I stopped dosing around a month ago

I have the same thing, tiny white stuff on the glass moving around. I thought they are bacterial but I dont think i can visually see bacterisal. It happend after dosing Red Sea dKH booster/Iodioa/calcium 5 days ago.

Certainly not bacteria, which you need a microscope to see moving around. Could be pods, rotifers, or any number of other microorganisms

I just was cleaning my glass and with a bit of struggle I got some of it off
