no nothing at all i started useing b-ionics its only been a couple of days but its been there before.i dont rember it being like this i used to buy distillied water from giant eagle then bought an r/o filter could i be getting high silecates from the r/o unit might cause this or maybe feeding tank to much.

cut back on the rods food, after about four months, I had a slimy whitish green in overflow and sump, I added some carbon bags in the sump, and cut the food back to every other day or so, knocked two hours off my lighting, it cleared up in about two weeks. just my 2 cents

that what iam thinking cut back on hours just run from 2pm till 10pm and feed the tank everyother day see what happens i know i have to take baby steps figure this out.

never tested silicates dont have a meter i know ya can buy them cheap maybe go to my local fish store see if they can test for it.

Still feed every day, maybe just some pellets on the days you don't feed Rod's. Rod's is a great food, but unless you have a ton of fish that eat 90% of what you put in the tank much of it becomes waste.

Then how do you know they're high? The only reason I asked about testing methods was in your original post you mentioned high silicates...
