Need some help. So this fish was covered in ich. I completely cured him with the tank transfer method. He now will be living in my quarantine tank for the next 3 months while my display tank is fallow. Within the last week. He has now developed some linear white stuff on his face right below the gills.

What does he have now ??? Lymphocystis?? Flukes?? Or could this still be ich. Need to know what the next steps should be. He won’t go into my display tank if he is sick . I’ve only been in this hobby 2 months. And it’s so dang frustrating. One side went away last night. The other side is still present but looks like it’s a growth rather than a ich spot.

Can you post a pic? It will make a diagnosis much easier

I know some tangs are more prone to HLLE (Head and lateral line erosion) in quarantine. My purple tang developped some while in QT but it was resolved quickly once back into the display tank. Try to keep up with good nutrition to help healing. I found enriching food with fortified garlic oil helped (I used the aquaforest oil).

(just saw the pictures, my appologies... Doesnt look like HLLE to me but I will follow along as well for more info :). Could be flukes imo )

I really dont think it’s flukes. Looks linear and risen from his body. Not flat and oval. Maybe Lymphocyctis??

Hard to tell from the photo. Are the white areas raised and cottony or cauliflower like? Or are they flat and filmy looking to you?

They look raised
Probably lympho. It's usually harmless. It's a virus similar to human herpes. It can come and go. The best way to treat this "condition" is for pristine water quality and feed the angel a wide variety of food and add vitamins like Selcon, Zoecon, etc. Zoecon has sponges in it that angels need and usually consume in their natural environment.
Lympho is contagious though. But most fish, if their immune system is in good shape are unaffected by other fish with this condition. Breeders sometimes separate fish with Lympho from the other fish. Especially with very expensive fish.
