So I believe it could be pineapple sponges or something along those lines but it appears to be growing at a rapid rate over last 3 months, as that was the last time I cleaned my sump and equipment ect.. should I be concerned or should I leave for a little longer before cleaning the sump out again?

This is in the sump growing in my slimmer 20210815_122205.jpg 20210815_122219.jpg 20210815_122242.jpg

NGI, is there good reason to have spaghetti sponges in your sump? And what advantages do they perform in there

Have seen no adverse affect on the tank so its probably nor hear or there if you have them.. unless someone can tell me otherwise the benifit of haing them over not having them...?

I think the biggest benefit is their diet, they eat organic detritus, small particle food passing through the water column. Filtering water like a sponge but in hard to get crevices like a bristleworm.

Some take silicates out of the water that's a plus. Then another thread on here about cryptic sponges might shed some light on things. (have not read yet)
