Hey guys
Can you help me id what these white thread like grows are? These are bam bams and they're all over between the polyps. They're staying closed :(
Also as you can see, some polyps are closed but you can see their skirts a bit, others are closed "tighter" what does that mean?

I absolutely second this question!! I see it from time to time. They are clear and i pulled one off before. Im going to assume a sponge.

They were dipped in coral rx before they went into the tank.
Was about mid October. Just started seeing these a few days ago.

Like i said above i have these too and they dont bother my zoas. I dont think they are a pest. You may have something else going on with your tank but i can be wrong.

I've also had an issue with algae covering the polyps so not sure if it's that or the white things keeping them closed.

Have you pulled em off or used a toothbrush on the zoas

I just finished using a toothbrush. They did not come off. They almost remind me of feather dusters but very small. Not vermitid either, they're flexible.

Ya try tweezers?

I'm having issues with some of the zoas sloughing off skin like a shed.
I'm wondering...is there a good dip that I can use to eliminate bacteria, algae, any pests. I was thinking bayer. What if I dipped all the zoa frags in bayer?

Nope. They broke apart before I could use enough force to pull them off

Early signs of problematic algea. H2O2 treat the frag.

Hahaha great, I'm taking advice from a drunk person

It's just frustrating. This is a new frag tank and most of the zoas are closed
