White, translucent growth

Can anyone ID this for me? It started in a small patch on the substrate. I thought it was from the Hawaiian black sand because I'd never used it before, but now it's all over the sand. It almost looks like aptasia-ish but it's grow like an algae???

Sponge.. it’s harmless but you can manually remove it if you want
