White/ transparent worms???

Just noticed these popping up in my live rock over the past few days. Anyone have any idea what they are?

No, they've been in the same spots for the most part. Maybe stretched out a bit further over the course of 12 hours.

If you touch them, do they withdraw? I'm thinking maybe they aren't worms.

I haven't tried touching them yet, I will in the morning. I have a few emerald crabs that crawl through the rock and have probably been within a inch or so with no reaction from this creature.

It could be a cryptic sponge.

I did touch them, and no reaction. And they are spreading up the rock. Are cryptic sponges something I should be worried about if that's what theses are?

I wouldn't worry at all. They are benign. If they ever grow where you don't want them, you can pretty much just grab them and peel them off.

I get these on the underside of my frags sometimes. they will go away on their own
But until they do, theyre not going to hurt anything. Theyre sponges
