Hi,

I've had my tank running for 4 years and have noticed these in the Heater compartment of my Kent BioReef 24G (along with a small bag of long forgotten Carbon - No wonder I had high Nitrates). They seem fixed, don't move if I touch it/them. Are they safe?

Thanks in advance.

Appears to be harmless tube worms and spiriorbid worms. They'll normally collect in the sump or under rock in higher flow areas. Filter feeders. They can at times overwhelm equipment, in which case you can scrape them off with a razor blade :)

Thank you for taking the time to answer! They have been there for a while but never really thought much of it.

Aslong as they are harmless then I shall leave them be.
