White web coming from polyp

My tank is about a year old. Salinity is 1.024 lights are led with hang on filters nothing fancy at all pretty basic. I recently got a colony of polyps and there appears to be white web coming off of one of my polyps. When it happens it makes my green zoas close if it touches them. What is this why is it happening and how can i stop it from happening. I have been sucking it up with a suction.

You can break them off, apply some glue over them. The numbers are based on how much you feed. Eventually they will die off IME.

I can’t see very clearly in the picture where the web is originating. Are you sure it’s coming from the polyps and not from the rocks? I ask because vermetid snails produce a web like you described.

Ok just looked up that snail you suggested and im pretty sure that is what it is. Now how do i get it off of the rock ? Just grab it and pull ?
