Noticed a head of my hammer coral was irritated and not fully extending. Upon inspection found this white tangled stuff. Trying to determine if this is a worm irritating my hammer coral or if it is just discharge - and if I should just remove the head. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not a worm. Mesenterial filaments. Guts of the coral. Usually not a good sign.
