I have this piece of acropora that I placed and ended up leaving two small branches in its own shade. The bottom two branches seem to be whiter than the rest, though the polyps still come out. This was my first piece of coral that i mounted and messed up by letting it fall in the glue, so don't mind the hardened glue on the base. My question is, will the bottom branches grow out into the light and start to color up? Or do i need to re position this piece so the light hits as much as possible?

IMO , don't sweat it much. As colonies grow they'll change shape in the flow. They'll overgrow each other , shade itself , and kill stuff on the lower branches. It's normal.
Yes, you can try to trim and bonsai each piece to keep it picture perfect but really, I'd let it do it own thing and see what it turns into.

I'm at the point where I'll knock off little frags like that and stick them in the rock sideways just to see what happens.

Usually it's stuff like this.

Although it's probably also why I have the ugliest stylo colony ever.

It's a foot wide. The two large acro crabs that live in it don't seem to mind how it looks.
