Whitish encrustation...ID please

My tank is three months old. The vast majority of my rock has some brownish hair algae on it and looks like this:

However, one small rock that happens to play host to my Riccordia looks like this:

The white encrustation seems to be fending off the nuisance algae. Any idea what it it???

BTW, I'm in the process of getting rid of the nuisance algae...It used ot be much worse!

The algae might be Dino's but you have to check that under a scoop.
The white stuff if it is solid and hard to the touch might be Coralline.

Huh! I was operating under the impression that Coralline is purple! I just touched it. It is quite hard.

Coralline comes in a few different colors and whitish is one of them.
