Hello folks!

Anyone here Cerakote professionally?
I've been doing it for the last 4yrs at my Father & Son shop located in CT.
If you do, care to share images of your work?

Thx!

Gonna take a stab without looking it up. Ceramic coating?

I have a cerakoted shotgun, err.. partially cerakoted shotgun.
My duck gun is half camo (stock) and all the metal parts are cerakoted FDE.

I didn't do it though, it was a factory finish.
Pretty cool that you have the ability to do it yourself. That's awesome.

What's the purpose and what are the primary applications? Strengthening existing structures? Sorry, I know this wasnt supposed to be a Cerakoting 101 thread!

Yeah thanks man!
I get a little creative and go overboard with the pieces that I have done. 993618CF-7A90-4A3D-BB61-AABB3E8C6E9E.jpeg

Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness.

Yeah thanks man!

Those are really cool!! My Glock barrel and slide has a nickel plating on it; I guess that’s not cerakote is it? Can you put cerakote over something that is already nickel plated?

Sure!
However it will need to be media blaster, to allow for better adhesion.

Ahh hah! I see your wheels turning

Maybe cerakoting would provide the benefits and aesthetics of a metal stand for those of us who cannot weld?

Or in an extreme example, imagine being able to make a wood stand with cerakoted 1x1's instead of 2x4's. No idea if this is possible.

Maybe cheaper than a T-Slot stand?

Would cerakoting an aquarium stand make sense from a cost-benefit standpoint? Or is it super-expensive?
Depends on how BIG it is, but yes you could.
Price is always an issue, and the Cerakoting paint is not cheap and must be baked on.

Incredible! The NIBX is what my Glock has. Note to self: no saltwater.
What are the typical products you use this on? Looks like gun parts? Have you coated anything meant for saltwater use?

Not yet, but I have some ideas I'm working on.
Not direct contact mind you, but they will be close enough for salt-creep to impact them.
