I am going to look at another person's tank that is getting out of the hobby. I like picking these up because I can get everything cheap. :)

Surely I can't be the only one like this.

If it's a nice enough set up, I would buy the whole thing. Otherwise, alot of us would just buy off pieces of the set up that'll improve our current set up.

True but when you get the whole thing it's a lot cheaper for each part. I bought a 120 setup for the tank. Ended up getting a reeflo dart pump and a few other things and selling everything else for a little more than I paid for it :).

I think that is great especially for the experienced reefer who knows exactly what he or she is getting for the money. If you prefer a different type of any of the equipment, you can resell what you do not want.

I WAS ABLE TO BUY A USED ELOS 160 XL ( TANK AND STAND ) FOR $ 2500.00
IT WAS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF 2011

Buying a used turn key system can be a great investment. Typically if there is a component that would like to change or not be used the items can be traded or sold and a huge savings is accrued. I always reccomemd to newbs or people looking to upgrade to surf the forums and classifieds for someone selling a setup.

I used to buy all the rock i could get my hands on at one point i had a 240gal tank setup in the garage with so much in it the rock was almost coming out the tank. Bad thing was i sold it all and when i went to set up my tank i had to go buy some at full price. Lol!!

I have bought tons of setups off of craigslist, I bought a 210 full setup, chiller and halides for lights, with tons of live rock, I flipped it for about 3 timess what I paid for it!

I also bought a 40 gallon breeder full setup for 500, IT had everything possible on it, Vortech pumps, 2 BRS dosing pumps, Metal halide light, a skimmer bigger then the breeder tank lol, I kept all the live stock offf this and flipped it for a pretty good price. Then I put that extra money into my new tank lol
