Who here feeds the corals at night? what do you feed them? and do you spot feed or colony feed?

Yes, mysis or brine, Spot feed unless I am feeling lazy, which happens late at night......
Nice pics on the lobsters, bulldozers???. I ask because they are a little red compared to the ones in the keys, that I have caught. Do you guys use "tickle sticks" also?

I feed my dendros PE Mysis about every other night. That's when I usually throw in some Oyster Feast and DT's, too.

Thanks, those are typically california spiny lobsters. we dont use any tools to get our lobsters. Geoff my bro in law is extremely good and has tought me a lot. If we miss the lobster on the first try and he backs into his cave we usually(depending on his size being worth it or not) just take our gear off, hold our breath and squeeze in the cave after him lol

Nice...
Down in the keys, the water is shallow comparitively speaking and we just use a snorkel and fins. The lobsters are also smaller. Every done any lobstering at night in shallow water. "Bully netting" is the term they use and talk about raking them in...... We filled 100 gallon cooler in a night doing this. Anyways nice pics again. Oh, Do you guys ever shoot any fish?(please don't hate, I eat them)

I only dive for lobsters and scallops. Geoff does the fishing...i'm not into it at all. our depths range from 10ft to 100ft. where we dive is considered extremely dangerous and expert level. tons of caves and very strong surges and currents. that same trip i almost got sucked into a cave. I grabbed onto some rock and the suction was soo strong my mask was begining to rip off my face. I got the heck out of there as soon as the surge went the other way.

I occasionally will feed them at night but usually forget... it would probably help me remember if I had moonlights.
Be easier to see what I'm doing as well.:)

At night I only feed Coral Frenzy, Reef Chili and Oyster Feast. I mix a little of each and just broadcast when the feeders are out. I don't spot feed at night only during the day.

i used to spot feed my tank at night, and i loved it. everything came to life and all you would see is tentacles moving all around the tank. i used to feed a mixture of mysis mixed in phyto along with clam eggs.I fed something else but i cant remember at the moment.

yeah I usually feed the fish an hour before lights out and then at 3 or so if I am up will feed the corals..since the acans are all tentacled out.
