WHO HAS 60XL SOLANO rimlessTANKS??

question?? My 60 cube is running only 1/2 in close to the top of the rim?? I slowed down the flow from top the tank and have a 1-1/2 drain ?? 1" supply to the tank. I was thinking this cube should be running at leat 3/4 in from the top of the rim? I cannot run my WP25 wavemaker when its 1/2" from running overoh:

any ideas??, the overflow looks like a poor design?

Figured it out!! the solana has a slide gate on the inside of the front of the overflow box. I slid it down and walla !! level goes down. Now if i can figure out how to make this drain quieter?? it is a 1-1/2 pvc tube half way up inside the box, with a Tee on top of it. that's it. it gurgles as the water enters the side of the Tee?? any suggestions
