Who has a bean animal in a stealthbox?

Payment about to be made, then I find out the custom aquatics stealthbox and bean animal are a problem of sorts. Apparently in order to do a bean on this box I have to shave off part of the elbows because they won't fit inside the box with the bulkheads.

Anyone have this system working with a bean? Not a fan of having to shave off part of the elbow to make it work as I'm not sure that won't affect the siphon or drain characteristics.
