picked one up a couple of days ago. Swimming around and seems to have some weight to it. I had it in qt for a couple days but just put it in the display because I read they are grazers and I don't have much to graze on in there. She's picking at my rock pretty good right now.

I've been feeding LRS reef frenzy and mysis to the rest of the tank but she just looks and goes back to pecking rocks.

Now I've read they are difficult and essentially one of the species that just needs left in the wild but it was at the LFS and kept charging at me when I walked by and I figured at least she'll have a fighting chance with me.

So with all that said what have you successfully gotten a Multibar to eat if you have one?

Only people with successful experiences please.

I have one on hold and getting conditioned because I think they are super interesting looking fish, not too big, and reasonably reef safe. Primary issue has always been getting them to eat the foods we have available as hobbyists. Hense the conditioning, prior to being sent. Good luck....

Thanks, my multicolored chased her for a day but a couple days in everyone has settled down. She still hasn't gone after any food but still picking at rocks.

From what i have red- try getting live foods, black worms, or brine shrimp. Might stimulate food instinct.

I have had success with them in tanks with small/calm tankmates, as the centerpiece fish, so small gobies, pink streak wrasse, sunburst anthias, etc. They were also not reef tanks, so they had lower lighting. They were shy at first, but became bolder. The ones in question ate standard frozen fares.
