hey, I am curious as to what spectrum(s) you guys run and to what intensity.. I had a big algae problem when I first got my lights and it has since cleared up. I want to run full spectrum because to my understanding, it is better for growth. I am afraid If i turn the red and green lights back up that I will get algae just like I did day one. Help me out and let me know what kind of schedule you are running. Thank you!

I am by no means an expert when it comes to aquarium lighting but here is how I have my Gen2 set up right now.

RadionSettings.jpg

I have it ramp up to a customer 20K setting that I got from someone on another forum and then up to 10K for coral growth, then back down to 20K and from there to the Blue preset that really makes the corals pop. I have the blue set for the evening because that's when I get home from work. I'm still playing with the settings but this has been working well without any issues.

The 20K custom preset:
White: 37
Blue: 100
Royal: 100
Green: 17
Red: 37
Overall intensity: 75

Wish I could remember where I found this at so I could give them credit for it.

I run my radions on the shallow reef pre-setting, for several reasons. The appearance of the high growth setting is blasting. It's very right, and to me, as a scuba diver who has been on many natural reefs, it doesn't look remotely natural. Light never blasts a coral reef totally even, as we used to see with T5 fixtures and compact flour ascent. The high growth setting is similar to that, in hopes of obtaining, you guessed it, high growth. The shallow reef setting provides the right spectrum of light for coral growth, but creates the natural look of a coral reef. It allows you to adjust for cloud cover and storms, and the ramp down really does look like a reef, as night approaches.
