Hello all,
Curious to see how many rimless tank owners without screen top cover have found fish in floor! Is it worth purchasing a screen cover ?

Lost my first one, melanarus wrasse last week :/ 3 months in the new rimless, 6 months total in another without screen but small lip. Definitely investing in a canopy now to also reduce light bleed over

What i am concerned about .
I just added a melanurus and a clown fairy wrasse yesterday. My friend that owns reef shop told me he has never lost one jumping out.
I didn’t really want to put screen on top but I don’t want to loose my flatworm exterminator either !
I have been back and forth on whether to buy screen for months.

Honestly there's no disadvantage to having one as far as I'm concerned. I forget its on when I'm. Checking the tank out. (Should have enough flow you can't see through the top anyways)

One person has been lucky without a loss! I just got on aqua cave and ordered screen top! I don’t like throwing $100+ away or on the floor to dry up !

Why don’t you want a top? I have a rimless as well and the top really takes away the looks. They do have some really nice acrylic ones though. I’m thinking about getting one but they are pricey.

I like the view looking down in my Deep Blue shallow reef setup with nothing blocking my view ...
Yes, I have seen the acrylic ones and have priced them . They are really nice looking but don’t know if I wanted to spend around 3- $400 on one.

Lost a flame hawk in a QT tank with no top. Now I have a cover for DT & QT.
