At 1am I was woken up due to a nightmare. In the dream I was showing my tank to a couple of people and some rock fell towards the front glass. This caused a hairline crack and water started leaking out. I ran my fingernail across that crack for what seemed like eternity.

That was 2.5 hours ago... it is going on 3:30am and I can’t go back to sleep. I’m curious if any of you have suffered a similar situation?

My ATO high alarm went off at 1:43 am this morning. Haven't quite got the gate valve right with Herbie setup. Scared the **** outta me that my sump was going to overflow, but it's impossible

I'm not certain if you would call these nightmares, but...
  • I've dreamed that I had an argument with my lfs owner over the cost of a fish. Apparently it said one price on the tank and he tried to charge me much more.
  • I've also dreamed that I bought another tank and I didn't tell my husband about it and I was worried about how he would react.

I am happy to see I am not alone in my irrational anxiety

I would say that I have nightmares about mine, but I never have.
Probably because the anxiety of owning one has caused me to have insomnia.

Once I had a dream I came home from vacation and my house was robbed but all they took were my corals. And the cops didn’t believe me when I told them how much I spent and thought I was trying to do some sort of insurance fraud.

I feel many people would find it hard to believe how much we spend on corals. Hopefully the coral bandits don't cross over to the real world.

Never.... in fact the opposite

A couple times a month I dream of being on vacation where theres a beach and corals just off shore. I dream of snorkeling and wanting to bring a coral I found in the ocean home to put in my tank. And YES I dream in color

Glad I'm not alone. I'm new to fishkeeping in general, recently lost a yellow tang for no known reason and replaced him. Woke up the other morning completely beliving everything in my tank died because of ammonia. Couldn't fall back to sleep after that either.

Had a few over the decades about earthquakes. Tank slides off stand and breaks apart, side panels dislodge and tank drains out. But then after analyzing and experiencing the situation I came to the conclusion that for there to be a complete failure of the tank it would have to be a large earthquake, a 6.0+ Atleast, with the epicenter within 10 miles of my house to have a chance at a complete failure. The Newport/Inglewood fault runs right under my house. But then again if we have one big enough centered close enough to my house to cause catastrophic damage the last thing I’m gonna be worrying about in the immediate aftermath is my reef tank. But once it’s over and everything is under control it would be a good excuse to do a massive upgrade. ;)
