I would also like to add a mandarin, sunburst anthias, red saddled anthias and some sort of flasher wrasse. I've never owned a flasher.
Who has owned an Orange Spotted Filefish (OSFF)?

No one is going in until they're taking frozen, so don't worry about the space for the the availability of pods. That's what my training tanks are for.

I know that you would make sure everyone was eating frozen though. I bought a mandarin at my LFS the other day and I am waiting for my QT to cycle, then I am going to add the mandarine. I am going to try to get mine on LRS, ROE, BBS, and maybe live black worms 
Do you have any recommendations for how to train them? I know to start with BBS. I was thinking of using PaulB's BBS target feeder and putting some LRS and ROE on top of the feeder and hoping the mandarin accidentally eats it and figures out it tastes good

I really should have said something along the lines of "this isn't a beginner's tank" before I slide right into plans. That's not a stock list to be taken lightly, but if you change the flasher out for a Leopard wrasse and add some seahorses and it will be a tank I've kept in the past. I'm actually throwing around the idea of an NPS tank.
I'm not sure of what Paul's BBS target feeder is, but I use a contraption I made with urine cups and craft mesh for adult BS and a rigid tube and a jar for BBS. I must have a picture of it somewhere... brb.

A NPS tank would be REALLY cool. You should look up Paul B's target feeder. It is a really good idea. It might be a lot like what you have

I'm not sure what I was up to with these pictures. Pretend the piece of paper is fine craft mesh. I gotta find the "real" pics. LOL! I would tie some fishing line to the container and attach a bobber so I could just pull it out when I was done.

I just looked it up, it's a cool getup. Same idea, just different sized materials from how we used to feed the horses.
FYI. There isnt much info out there on these fish so Im going to add my experience.
I've owned my male for 4 years now. Ordered him from Divers Den. He was on a diet of pellets and mysis. This morning I noticed he has bloat.
My theory on him getting bloat is two fold:
1. I stopped the mysis because my nitrates where too high (3 months to date); so his diet became unvaried and probably very high in fats/protein?
2. Last week I noticed the tanks PH was low and high temp, put on fans to lower tank temp and increase PH, dropped the temp 2 degrees in a hour
I believe the change in diet and the sudden change in temperature affected his intestines. I've added epsom salt to the tank in hopes of helping him. Its not looking good. Anyone have any suggestions?
On a side note. He nipped a softball sized frogspawn to its bones about a year ago. After he was done with that he picked on some mushrooms, didnt kill them but would often take a bite.

Sudden onset. Hes always had a slight bulge that I thought was a full belly, Im wondering now if that was just a sign of things to come. I equate it to a human eating hamburgers everyday for 30 years than having a heart attack.
Hes still alive but not looking good. Still blocked up and slightly fuller. Also i noticed a slight bulge near his anus.

We have had 2 Orange Spotted Filefish for a bit over two years. Ordered a pair, but it came two females. They are in a large mixed reef tank(10000L) at my work(a public aquarium).
I was a bit nervous at first(mostly for the Acropora milleporas), but it has worked out well. They feed on most of the Acropora species and also the Seriatopora. Never seen them eat the food the other fish gets, but there's lots of corals and the fish are looking well.

Just a follow up. My OSFF died. He was with me 4.5 years. Ita been about 2 months and 2 things ive noticed since hes been gone.
There has been a starfish and aptiasia population explosion. I never thought they ate them but he has been the only change in my tank. Very interesting.
