Who has tank Paranoia?

The paranoia i have is with ich.. Ive been battling ich for years.. I finally eliminated it going hypo salinity fir 40 days and fallow for 50 or 60.. Then i got it again a year latee from hermit crabs.. Now i jisy got out of 30 days of hypo and 35 days of fallow i did it earloer due to it effecting my fish and my corals started dying cramed ina 60g tank vs the 135g they were in.

So now its been 3 weeks and i look at my fish like a hawk.. last 2 days ive seen 1 or 2 dots on my powder brown tang.. and its freaking me out because it might be ich AGAIN.

Its litterally the thing that makes me drink and worry 24.7... humm.. Ich can be such a hobbY ruiner for me

always use UV light and quarantine your fish.

Honestly, for me I don't think Ich is a big deal. As long as your fish are not stressed and eat well, Ich shouldn't affect them. My fish may show a Ich spot every now and then but usually it disappears within 24 hours. I have a fully loaded tank with tangs, wrasses, fox face, damsels, chromis, etc. Haven't lost a fish in 2+ years. *knock on wood*

I used to be paranoid and freak out in the beginning...but experience has taught me to leave my hands out of the tank and let things work out on their own (for the most part).

Every tank is diff. You cant say your tank is fine with ich. When you cant see their gills or when you have resistant species like you listed. You probably also dont have a Acanthurus species of tang.. aka powder brown powder blue ect. Those tangs get ich even if your other tangs dont.

I have 6 tangs in my tank with 0 aggression and they get fed 4x a day. Theyre so bulked up they look like theyre on steriods.. but if i have ich in the tank the powder brown will get it. Might be 1 or 2 dots.. thrn the 2 turn to 4 then 8 then 16 and so forth and eventually he makes so many the tank becomes overloaded with the parasite and it affects the other fish.

Also foxfaces. Wrasses. Damsels. Chromis are all ich resistant. Youll never know you have it in the tank with those fish. Trust me i have the same fish lol.

Always, you see my rock aren't glue they are just balanced precariously.

My first 2 fish died in QT of brook so I’m always worried something’s going to go wrong.

same as above “why is the fish over there?” “Hmm, did that fish just flash?” “Did that one eat aggressively enough?”

True. That's why I don't even care to try keeping a Acanthurus species. Beautiful fish but not worth the stress.

Only when I had a protein skimmer. It jammed twice in a year and flooded my room at the time. Skimmers gone along with the paranoia.

My skimmer and rodi have both done this. The worst part about it is the having to explain to the wife.

This is why dont like sumps. My 135 gallon uses two emperor 400s. Those are my mini sumps to just catch detrious in the water column.. mechanical only.. and since they hold bout 2 or 3 gallons of water i can use them for activated carbon in socks or whatever i chose reallu. The biowheels spinning with the spray bars help eith oxygen as it kicks up alot if water.. So its fairly simple to me. Ive debated getting a 3rd one. One on each corner and one in the middle.

They are actually phazing out the Penguin and emperor 150-200-350 and 400s fir a new design with the pump in the water to lower noise. So the old ones are on sale and dirt cheap

70+ corals.. and 6 tangs and i use city tap water.. Sumps skimmer ect arent needed. It just creates more potentional for leaking and causing major damage.

Especially when my 135g is on the 3rd level in my bedroom. Ive had nearly 15-20 gallons leak in the floor once.. It wasnt fun specially when the entire carpet was soaking wet and it leaked through to the drywall ceiling on the 2nd floor

Oh and my second paranoia after the ich thing.. Is coming home to my 135g tank crashed through my floor.. Its been in this spot for over 2 years now and it hasnt sagged the floor or lost its level.. but it is kinda scary thinking of 1700lbs sitting on two 2x10 joists. Yea the tank is parrallel to the joists.. so it sits on only 2
