I wish I took a before pic, it was a tiny 1/2"twig with no noticeable branches starting. It's a poor pic so you can't really see the blue tips on it but I must say it's a really sweet coral :D

If you got it, post it and tell me what you think of it so far...

I saw this at Coral Island and I wasn't impressed at all. Maybe there's loss color but it didn't look nice. Your pic looks alot better than theres.

Mine is the same color as ians it's not really red at all more of a pinkish purple honestly... I just got my frag not to long ago from mike and it has really took off!!! I must say it's a fast growing acro if I must say..;)
It's pretty cool and unique in it's own ways I mean I don't have any other acro that's even close to it...

It does look like turaki and hawkin, thin branches..

Ian, How long have you had it to have it grow to that from the twig?

So how long do you guys think the average frag will take to grow out in order to propagate it would love to get a frag of that coral ..very nice

Any picture of the mother colony sexycoral? This thing is crazy expensive >< Hopefully price will go down so I can get myself a piece ^^

I got's one too. nice, real nice in fact just not even close to worth what I paid for it. I couldn't with a straight face charge what people are asking for this thing.

this may be one of those cases where a little hype and a cool name was enough to sucker people in. Myself included. Frag of this is worth 50.00 at most.

pretty much exactly this....the huge $$$ this thing fetches is just crazy imo. Plus, it's not even red?

It was originally called the Firefighter Fuscia in Canada where it came from, once CITR got it he renamed it for some reason.

The reason I wanted the coral is because of this picture posted on RC in '08

While I agree it's not worth the $2-300 price tag, it is a special acro, seems to be hardy and should be worth $100 easy.

It's definitely not just anyones cup o' tea though either....

You guys are crazy!!!! Chalices fetch thousands and your gonna say one of the most unique acros of all time ain't worth 250$???? I guess to each there own but it's worth every penny to me...

I have it as well, mine grows at a medium pace.....and is more pink / purple than red. Some corals take time to color up nicely, especially when they are small frags. That said, Currently I would say that it is not worth the price tag I paid for it ($250). That said, I could always change my mind ;-)

I've wanted this but the price tag has kept me away. Ian if you want to sell me a frag for $100 I'll take it,lol. I'd even have some cash left over to buy some of the awesome corals you keep posting.

I have mine under t5s right now and it seems to have some good growth on it. I can't wait in a few months to have it under LEDs and see how it colors up.
