Do I enjoy it not really, do I dread it not really.

I crack a valve on my return plumbing to drain the sump using my return pump. Then crack another valve on my mixing station to fill it back up.

40gals in honestly less than 5mins.

Do you use seawater? I live at the beach and have thought about trying it

Yes, seawater. Where do you think your fish came from? :D

If I have access to it, I always use it. ASW is after all Fake Sea water and unless you have fake fish, go for the real thing.

I hate waterchanges even on my freshwater tank...

Yeah...I do. Always have. I like them better if I get them done first thing in the am. Same as above, just nice having an accomplishment to start the day off. Only take one 5 gallon bucket here though so no muss, no fuss.

My manual water changes are part of my fitness program!!!

With my DOS setup; I don't mind at all.

Not a huge fan at the moment. Water changes are not super hard for me. I can do up to 20g and mix it right next to the tank and can pump it in. Disposing of old water and water change equipment clean up sucks. I have to dump water down a drain 5g buckets at a time and all mixing equipment needs to be moved back into the garage. I really want to take over a closet under the stairs for a water mixing and equipment storage but the wife is currently not having it. My next option is setup in the garage and use long hose to pump water to the tank and syphon old water into the drain. The garage solution has the issues of 100+°f for 5-6 months of the year.

Thank you for this thread. It reminded me to do the water change. I’m still freshwater but am trying to get into better habits before going salt. I want to start doing 10% weekly and it went super fast this time, there’s no reason for me not to do it. My fish thank you as well. I don’t know why I don’t like to do them, I think it’s not even the task specifically just procrastination like someone else mentioned.

I do a 15G water change every week on my 65G. Love a clean tank. I have big poopers and need a bigger tank. My tank is high nutrient/fish are happy and so are my zoathids. Can't keep SPS happy. Working on lowering the nitrates but for now....love my frequent water changes, my happy fish, and my happy LPS.

Now that I can do a water change simply by turning a few valves, they dont bug me a bit LOL. I still need buckets for the 75g and I dislike that.

The benefits of staying OG - me after doing water changes with a bucket!!!

I do 25 gallon water changes every other week and I'm just sitting here looking at my tank thinking I really want to do another water change even though it's not till next weekend, ha. I've gotten it down to where I can do a 25 gallon water change in under 15 minutes. So anyone else here like doing water changes?
Me. Good excercise for arms

I had a discus tank for over 2 years but the first year I was doing 50g wc a day on my 100g system . I went back to salt water about 8 months ago and never going back . I went to a smaller system and only doing 5g wc every weekend . I love doing wc and maintenance On my tank I do a little every day

I like it, i throw 15 gallons of water in a drum with salt once a week and let the aws do its thing lol

Man, I wish I enjoyed water changes...
I don't enjoy them, but I don't dread them either since I have everything plumbed to my basement. Flip a couple valves hit a couple smart switches on my phone and never have to leave the front of my tanks! Not completely automated (Only because I don't trust it :))
