Who is this?

I am going through a little bout of hydroids, so I know what they look like (Anyone have any solutions for them, that would be GREAT!)

But this guy has a much larger base than a hydroid. The base is semi transparent and there is a fan/filtering head to it. Good guy or bad guy? If bad, besides fire, how do I effectively kill it?

They tend to starve in newer systems. Mine only began to thrive after my 40-gallon Breeder became 6 months old or so.

Yes, they occur in systems that are matured. I have some that are returning. I suspect I have an abundance of nutrients that I must get a handle on.

So, my tank is hitting the 6 month mark now. Also, the coraline algae growth has really hit a high gear.
I bottomed out the nutrients at month 4 and have been working on getting them back to the right level and STABILIZE them.
I've lost a couple SPS that I tried to keep. Too much, too soon. Need to leave the SPS to a more mature tank.
