Who is using the Zeolight Method and do you love or hate?

I use a zeovit like method with a zeolite reactor. I like it a lot. The method is really just carbon dosing. The zeolites are more to just provide a bacteria colonization location rather than have bacteria all over the place.

Ive also read a few hypotheses that zeolite sloly releases soluble iron, possibly binding po4 much like gfo. Also zeolites apparently remove ammonia. So youve got a tripple whammy, vodka, ammonia removal and po4 removal from iron.

Yeah, I know they say that the zeolites do these things, but with how diverse zeolites can be, I'm not so sure. I don't use the expensive Zeovit zeolites. I use the cheaper Brightwell zeolites. But either way, they work very well as a place for bacteria to colonize and that is good enough for me. Means I don't need as much rock.

I will say, I tried the cheap zeolites you see for sale at Petco and such, just as an experiment. Not very good. Too small and dense. Limited flow and didn't host as much bacteria as the Brightwell zeolites.
