Who keeps a emerald crab?

Mine has been fine for around 6 months. Not an abundance of algae and it eats pellets dropped in the tank readily. Never attacked fish or coral. Seems they can be hit or miss though.

I got one for a massive bubble algae problem, but once I started using Vibrant and my bubble algae went away, I started finding zoa polyps scattered throughout the tank. It is now in the sump.

My emerald used to attack my frogspawn, but I started giving it a piece of nori every time I see it and it stopped. Also....... I have heard that the females are less aggressive than males. Idk how scientific that is but I would get a female just to be safe.

Mines been ok. I make sure it gets some pellets occasionally.

I've got 4 in a JBJ 30 gallon. Seem happy and growing. Though the one who only has one claw, got him that way, had an asterina starfish on his underbelly he wasn't too happy with and had trouble getting it off. Clearly annoyed. They sometimes chase out, just by their presence and obtinance, the jawfish from his cave. Funny to watch.

My two do a great job of cleaning all the algae off my rocks, but also love my snails

I keep them and i have never had any type of problems. I did get them for the bubble algae and they never ate it.

I've got one in my DT somewhere... never see him during daylight but occasionally at night. I thought it'd died tbh until I saw it about 4 months later! Seems not to be harming anything and algae is kept down so guess he's eating something sensible...
Speak of the devil...
