Who Likes Montiporas!?

Montiporas are my favorite corals hands down. So many different variaties and colors.

Here are a few pics of some Montiporas I have right now. I will be adding many more that I have at the shop like a few 5-6" tyree caps and a huge rainbow montipora.

This is my Hulk encruster. I dont know the exact species(any ideas?), but it is the first encruster I have seen that is green both on the base and the polyps!

This is my red cap, nothing special but I grew it out from a 3" frag to this 10" wide x 6" tall size it is now.

This is my favorite Monti cap, my Idaho Grape! I rescued it from a LFS tank, it was dying so they gave it to me! They had no idea what it was!

This is what it looked like when I got it!

And this is after it recovered!

And now with a bunch of nice new outward growth!

And last but not least, my neon orange digitata. This is also one of my favorites!

I have a few more in my tank, but no good pictures of them.

How about you guys, any nice montiporas in your tanks? Lets see them!

Nice montis! Especially the Undata, you cant beat those colors.

I hear people say Idaho grape is an undata. I have seen other colonies from the same piece that encrusted mostly, but mine is really starting to cap out.

I forgot to mention I am growing all my corals in a 37g tank.

yeah, i've heard the same thing also. but IMO they look nothing alike. i used to have a large colony of idaho grape...its more like the leng-sy cap if anything. last frag i had i gave to j.montgomery.

That spongodes is sweet. That is one piece that I hope to aquire soon!

I am planning on buying a Mountain Dew colored Digitata colony today for $65. It is HUGE, 6 or 8 inches in diameter with branches all in the middle, and the people dont know what it is worth. Bright yellow base with neon green/yellow polyps.

If you want I can probably get one in the next time I do an ORA order. I price them at $38.99. The piece pictured was 2". Although I could be persuaded to do some trades.

Nice Bow, I have one JUST like it, I have finally defeated MEN and I will be adding it to my display soon, I am going to frag it first though, it has encrusted under the plug to the point it is pusing itself up trying to grow.

We've tried superman digitata but those things are just a PITA. Pics will come later, Chelsey is getting ready to aquascape my tank.
