Who starts with live sand?

Getting ready to set up my 80 gallon cube...just wondering if anyone has experience with live sand. Is it worth the expense and can you recommend a brand?

I use mostly dry sand rinsed very well. Then I try to get a couple lbs of live sand from a LFS or local hobbyists tank to seed the sand.

Unfortunately I live in a very rural area...my local fish store is an hour and a half and a ferry ride away. And needless to say I barely have neighbors, much less local hobbyists, lol.
