who uses battery back up?

I have a UPS that basically protects the equipment form the frequent ups and downs of our power supply. Generally they are short lived. Will get a generator soon in order to protect from the 10 year blackout.

One small 5w wavemaker that will run 3-5 days on lowest setting.
I live in the big city, only once did we lose power for 18 hours in 60 years…so far…
Just the battery pack is good for me.

But if I was rural, generator.

I have battery backups on all 3 tanks for power heads. if the power outage is to long I fire up the portable generator that will run the tanks and the refrigerator and freezers

This is very cool. It makes total sense to hook a generator directly to your main panel. I just watched the videos. Alas, my panel is completely full. I maxed out when I added the circuits for the tank. LOL Cool stuff - next house.
You don't have to hook straight to the panel. All you need is a 220 outlet and plug it in. Just shut off your main breaker before starting the generator

I backfeed my panel with a spare 30a 2 pole that I had (goes to my dryer but all my major applications are gas).

I recently got one. Living in FL, with hurricane season upon us and reading about the Texas winter storm sealed the deal.
