Who wants free coral!

still shopping for my tank but I would like to participate...

Well with everyone that's wanting to be apart of this, I'm going to have to change the coral. I'm not sure I have enough polyps to make this many frags. When my lights come on, I'll look and see what I have that I can frag this many of.

I need help with names. So of you i know but others I dont. So if I don't have a name beside your id, please tell me, or if I missed someone, Thanks

Monkeynaut..... Matt if I remember right (not sure if you wanted in or was just following)
And I'm going to cap it at ten

Also because this is learning experience as well as a game/contest, tell everyone a little about your tank. (Size, lights, filtration flow) hopefully we will have a mix of lights to compare from.

So I haven't picked the new coral yet. But I promise it will be pretty.
And to tell you a little about the coral conditions now. My tank is a 24g all in one nano. Flow is from a xf230 maxspect gyre at 40% and jebao D.C. 2000 running around 40%. Lights are radion g4 xr30 pro at 10% on AB+ coral growth spectrum. Filtration/ Other than live rock, I'm running a macro algae reactor and no skimmer.

Tank filled on 10 December 2017 so 3 months old today. Jumped into the hobby on September, 2016 with my first aquarium. I'm a noob.

Both my old and new tank builds are linked below. I replaced the first tank because I did not like the dimensions.
If you want to know more, please ask.

While I think it will be fun to be part of this, if there are too many people who want to participate for the available zoas I have no issue sitting this one out.

So is everyone going to be able to pick up their frag next Saturday? My house is in Toney, or i could wait till the next meeting? Will it the 24th? Need to know today who will be able to pickup for sure, that way I can make them this evening and give them a chance to heal before finding new homes. So anyone I don't hear from today, will miss out on this round.

********Also key point!!!!******
I don't mind giving the frags away. But you have to be to participate Not get a free frag, disappear and never submit any updates/data. If you are just trying to get a free frag and not submit anything you will not be able to participate in another contest. Does everyone feel that this is fair? This is to help everyone in the reefing community get a better idea of how to take care of specific corals under different circumstances i e tanks, lights, filtration, Etc and hopefully we can even make a chart once all this is finished on every Coral that we study.

Very fair.

I have a small rock with some boring zoas and GSP on it that is also covered with coralline I wouldn't mind giving away if someone is just curious to see if their system will support coral. No reason to use a contest coral.

I am in Harvest and could definitely pick up next Saturday. This will be fun to compare systems and lighting effect to see what performs best.

My name is Jorge, I was at the meeting in January.

I’m afraid I won’t have my tank ready for this... so I will pass on the contest.

I’m still shopping around for an AIO; last two options are either RedSea Nano Max 20gal or IM 25 Lagoon... not sure yet.

I can pick up next Saturday. Also wouldn't mind waiting to the meeting on the 24th. Both work for me.

Just here too see who wins. I love the idea by the way!

I am interested in the experiment.
I have a 160 gallon Triton method tank with 2 kessil a360 and a an ap700 for lighting 7 hours out of the day. My tank has strange dimensions at 20” wide 51 long and 33 tall.

Whoever has the best growth will need to borrow a Par meter if they dont have their own and get into parameter details for everyone.

I'm not going to jump in on the contest. I worry if something goes wrong and they shrivel up on me
