Who's bringing in wild colonies still?

As far as I know, WS is not closed. They posted on their FB account in mid-March an update that corals are allowed to ship from Fiji.

They closed in November December last year I'll check with my trans shipper to see if its back on.

Thanks for this thread. Even though I’m not in the market now, later I do hope to buy colonies

I wont touch wild colonies until I have a top notch QT system that can house corals for 3+ months. 0.0 chance a wild would go into my display without it! :)

Fiji is back open, but it takes them a while to ramp back up. I would expect to see rock and corals soon.

These colonies can come with pests and stuff. They definitely need their own tank and special care. Sure, you can dip the heck out of them, but you will lose some. I usually just put them shallow under some MH until I see some new growth, then take a few backup frags from the bottom and sides and then dip them. Patience and special care is the key to max survival.

Unique Corals does. A lot of wholesalers do, so just request your LFS to order from their supplier.

Two Guys Corals always has a ton of new wild colonies. They’re worth checking out if you’re ever in Southern California. I go there and drool over the colonies, but can only afford frags, lol.

I really like growing my acros out from frags, but dang wish I knew about this Livestock USA before I got my tank totally full. I would have totally purchase or split one of those premium acro boxes!

If you do Divers Den, Unique, Aqua SD or the like, then they value is in the brown colonies. You better believe that they stripped the gems away already and what they are selling you are either common and good (assuie shortcakes are everywhere, but awesome) or just OK. The brown ones are huge gambles, but they might hide a beauty.

A couple friends and myself split a box a couple years ago. I had a couple die off but I dipped them in Bayer and QT'd them. Sadly I had a power outage last month and now some of my corals are struggling. I had seven colonies to begin with. They were bigger than they looked in the bags. Nicely packaged and still had that nice ocean smell.

I have brought in over 300 colonies only lost a couple due to alk swing
