Hey everyone I've been running my AI Prime for about a month now, I love everything about it except...the disco ball affect. Other then that I love it, and I am trying to figure out the best light setting, share what tank and what light setting your currently running with the AI Prime, Pictures wanted! If you have tips and tricks let us know!

Reds and greens usually cause it trying turning them off and see if it fixed.

I am running 20k in the morning ramp to 14k then back down to 20k lunar from 9-2 on a 40 breeder. Sorry for the cell phone pic.

Love my prime! I run it on a 10 gallon nano 8 inches above the surface of water. I run lunar from 8PM to midnight. I'm still experimenting but here's my current settings which seems to keep corals happy. Whites, reds, and greens are low all day to minimize algae. As long as my corals are happy I'm keeping it. I would prefer to increase whites but I'm still working through the algae mystery. I have no idea if whites promote algae but I think that's what I read.

Reds usually promote algae but it could also be that you may have higher than normal nutrients. @Vinh

Absolutely. I'm learning there's a delicate balance of just the right amount of nutrients to keep corals happy but not promote algae (especially in a nano). No doubt it's a tight rope act that I haven't perfected yet.

Also removing the mesh screen may help, I took mine off and added regular clear mesh!

What's the difference in color between 12k and 20k and how does effect corals?

20k will be more blue, technically 12k will grow better but 20k should help color up cross better as long as your trace elements are all in line!

Most people run leds with a heavy blue color because of how it makes the corals pop!

I checked the AI's preset kelvins with my seneye and they were pretty much spot on. @Vinh Yes it is a balancing act that can be manageable with time.

I have green and red turned off. I run blues and whites mainly. The whites give off enough red and green imo since primes are heavy with whites.

I'm running 5 of the Primes on a 5 foot tank: 60" x 22" x 18"... absolutely love them and have not had an issue growing any sort of coral. I run roughly a 14k and then trail off with the blues for late night. Here's my settings, pics, video and also my Dropbox file if you want to import my setup and give it a whirl.
