I'm wondering if anyone is using the red sea recipe they have in their website for additives? Is it working for you? What do you like or not like about it? What are you testing to make sure things are inline?

What will you be testing as you dial in your dosing? Alk and calc I'm sure. Anything else?

At the moment i'm using the Hanna testers, i'm testing every day at 1pm to monitor my levels to find what my tank is consuming

I tried it for a while, I have one suggestion if you want to try the accelerated growth proceed with caution, my system was not able to handle that much Alk and calcium and caused massive precipitation. The one thing I still use after switching to Triton is Reef energy A&B. Still to this day I cannot find another amino acid that doesn't cause cyano.

When I was using it I just dosed 10% amount of coral colors as I did the corresponding element. For example 50 mL of calcium 5 ml Coral colors B. Probably wouldn't hurt to still send in a test sample to Triton to know exactly what your parameters are every now and then.
Could be a little off on some things it's been quite a while since I've used that method, Ive found Triton much simpler. Good luck!;)

I use ABC+ on my nano tank. It's the easiest supplementation I have ever used. I love it and my corals are thriving. I also dose nopox in there and it works great as well.

I used their Reef Mature kit to establish the bio filter in my new tank. Was having excellent results... I was very pleased with the kits (had to buy 3 of them for my 150g system). I have to say, I've dosed Vodka in the past, and I really liked NoPox. Much better, faster results than I was getting with Gordon's :)

Once established, I switched this tank over to the Triton system. That was always the plan, but I was tempted to stay with the Red Sea program.

Got a good friend that may be starting the Red Sea program up on his 125 shortly. Looking forward to seeing his results.

I also used the reef mature kit. Worked great for me. My biofilter was so strong on my 10 gallon nuvo fusion that I set it up 30 days ago and already have it fully stocked with four fish and corals. That's a great kit for sure.

I agree. For tanks smaller than 50 gallons or so, I'd highly recommend it. For larger tanks, less so... just based on cost.

I think @GoVols is best to ask this....:D
Anirban,
Lol!!
What thread are we on???

If anybodies got any questions, then feel free.

You can also poke around on my build and it's on my signature below.
I don't have the need to carbon dose, so I don't use NoPox.

I'm holding 80 total gallons and been using the same method since last October.

He needs some help related to red sea additive recipes and how well they work.;)

OK,
I use the ABC+ powder with "Colors" C & D.
The abc+ raises your big 3 all at one time and already has "colors" A & B, built into it.

You dose 1ml of colors c & d to every 13.3 grams of the ABC+ powder.

I dose 15ml's of both Reef Enegry A & B just about every evening.

I do dose Seachem "Reef Builder" from time to time to keep the alk inline and pure mag about once a month.

I'm holding 80 total gallons of water.

Since the ABC+ raises all the big 3 at one time, you need to test them a lot.

My build is on my signature line and if you don't like, then you don't like.

I used to use the AF Comp 1+ 2+ 3+ with my DOS pumps and it is a wonderful product too.

Regards, GoVols

@Anirban
It's been awhile and thanks for thinking of me.

How have you been doing?

Freddie

I have been considering the triton product as well. I have a reefer 170 and seem to fight that good static water chemistry.

When someone ask for red sea stuff you are the one I think of...;)
Went through a pretty bad phase of Aiptasia. Everything failed including berghia so burned them all. Changed the rock but the tank suffered and lost few of my precious acros...:(
Now waiting to see how it turns out...

I have been using this system for about a month, although I have been using a small dose of NoPoX for about a year. I have been taking it slow, and am dosing like 30% of the recommended dose for colors, and about the same for the Energy product. I did some big water changes right at the beginning of using this product line to correct some serious chemistry issues (had done two 25% water changes with a box of Reef Crystals, and although it mixed up to 35 ppt, the Alk was 2.8dkh, calcium was 190, and Magnesium was like 800...didn't figure this out until I had done both water changes), and saw some immediate positive changes. Things have continued to look good, but I can't be totally sure if its the additives/system, or the further 25% water changes using their salt that have been the cause.
I will say that making the stock solutions of the Foundations (CA, Alk, MG) has been very simple, and I was able to just triple my dose of ESV B-Ionic Alk (was dosing 9ml/day with ESV Alk, so dosed 27ml/day of Red Sea Foundation Alk) and the tank didn't miss a beat (kept the Calcium dose exactly the same as my ESV dose). I should mention that I only had to use a 3x dose of the Alk because I made my stock solution using the powder, I believe that the premixed liquid supplement would probably be about the same as ESV B-Ionic.
Like I said, maybe my tank is just looking better because I have done some massive water changes, and it has nothing to do with the colors/energy supplements? Personally, I think its a little of both.
I do like how everything works together (like dosing the Colors supplements based on Calcium dosage, etc), which is the main reason I moved over to using all Red Sea stuff.

I'm sorry :(
Play's just smoked Jackie's reef and it's just heart breaking.

I lost 80% of two years worth of SPS growth in early 2015 to dino's, felt so helpless.
