Black Friday came and I got this beauty of a washer. Now I can wash my filter socks.

As long as I do a load in between filter socks and the babies clothes I don't get in too much trouble.

That's how I wash mine. With a cup of bleach. First time I did it, she just said "gross". Now she has accepted it. I spray them out with the hose first.

I'm wondering if the washer purchase was specifically to wash filter socks:eek:

I am the wife. Filter socks are rinsed and sprayed with hydrogen peroxide immediately and then when have a bucket full are sprayed again and washed in hot water in the washing machine. If the washing machine smells funky after I run a bleach cycle of the empty washing machine. I see it as no different from when we wash swimwear and towels after the beach or my husband comes home particularly muddy .

I wouldn't care if my husband washed his filter socks in it. I do care if he leaves the lid up.

For reasons I can't fathom, my wife also cares if I leave the lid up on the washing machine. Is this somehow related to "leaving the seat up"?

Lol no. They will fall on your hand.

If I bought my wife that nice of a washing machine she would let me wash whatever the heck I wanted in it ;)

The newer washers actually recommend that you leave the lid up after a load to avoid moisture and mildew.
