opened doors to check reactor in sump and notice 100s of these white/clear alien looking things!

whot are these! something to worry about?

Thanks" that's good news! do these just die off after few weeks? do they help keep sump clean?
 
Good filter feeders. if you don't want them, simply scrape off with an old credit card.

Supposedly they use silicates somehow, much like diatoms do in the new stages of aquariums. I typically see them no more than 6 months after my aquarium has cycled. They’re not a problem. Once you don’t see them anymore, you won’t see them again.
 
I still have them over 2 years in to my build. Completely harmless.
 
They will die off after a bit for the most part, yes.
 
Still have them growing freely in my sump and they dont do any harm just clean your water a bit better

iv had skimmer off know for 2 weeks" these may have come because im trying to get nutrients up because was 0
 
I dont think fish eat them as I have never seen my sumped goby go near them.

My dwarf angels have all eaten them, but they are the only ones I've seen that do.
