Anyone know of somewhere that sells Asternia Starfish? Ya know the lil boogers who are always on the glass.

Don’t mind feeding Asternia starfish but don’t really want to order a linkia just to feed them, but I will. I usually feed from the stock in my sons tank but most have died off. Which I believe they died due to some metal from a rusted clamp getting into the water. The clamp is now gone, the rust should be cleaned out, and any metal in the water column should be in the process of being absorbed... but it may take a while for the little stars to grow back to a good level.

The Harleys have finally gotten use to me feeding them with tongs and have become a little bit of nuisance when I’m trying to move frags around! They’re great little shrimp if you don’t mind the special diet.

I had some show a few months ago in my tank. I had not added any thing for more than 6 months. I can only assume eggs or something came in my frozen food.

if you’re in a pinch for starfish, you can probably find chocholate chip stars at yr LFS. harlequins will eagerly eat them too. easier on the wallet than linckias.

If you are in an area with alot of local reefers, they will have some. I have a harlequin as well and loke to feed them asterinas Every month or so he gets hungry again and most local reefers will just give u some or trade for a cheap frag
