Why are duncan corals turning neon green

Yes my Duncan began to turn neon and not open up is it to much light or not a certain spectrum of light help

The other heads look fine, perhaps something is bothering it? Is it getting blasted by a return or something?

I assume the first pic is before, and the second what is going on now. Have you moved them in between pics? how long have you had them? What, if anything, has changed?

What he said. Based on what I am seeing, it looks like too much light, but I don't like to assume without all of the facts.

My Duncan’s were big and kinda bouncing. Then they closed and now look totally different. Everything does something a little different in each tank

I would move it away from the Hollywood Stunner. HS has huge sweepers (like 6 inches or more) that could be stinging it. Worth a try anyway.

It lost its color and looks all neon green

They look good but AGREED, they could be fuller. What do I do differently?


a) Moderate flow.... they hate high flow in my tank
b) Moderate lighting. They seem do well in lights not bright and more blue
c) Feed !! I feed them every 2-3 days, direct and suspend feed

Seems so - Try it, but gradually make those adjustments.

Mine are neon green, been that way for almost 3 years. They are in medium flow. They close up when I disturb them or food falls into their tentacles. Never for long periods of time. There’s probably something irritating them. Have your water chemistry or lighting changed a lot quickly.
