Not sure what is going on but some of my corals are closing up and have lost a few heads/ polyps

I’m thinking it might be my alkalinity it was around 12 when there where big and happy and open and now it’s 9.7

It could literally be a thousand different things; lights too bright, light too dim, flow too strong, flow too weak, etc,,,,

It will help if you provide more info about your tank. Full tank details will; tank age, water parameters, what kind of lighting, any flow, when did the alk fluctuation happen, how long have you had the corals, do you dose anything to the tank.... the more you can tell us the better our guesses will be

These coral often are irritated by sand and I would raise them off direct sand bed.
Additionally, what is both your phos and nitrate level?
What is salinity and ph level?
If feeding them, what are you feeding and how often ? Feeding tubes extended in all pics which suggest hunger.

What fish do you have in tank with them?

I have had the tank for about 3.5 years I did have to move it to my new house about 8 months.

My water parameters are good with no ammonia or nitrites my ph is around 8.4 I believe nitrates are around 5 ppm alkalinity is 9.7 calcium is around 400
Magnesium is slowly coming up at 1100

I have to long strip lights FluvalSmart not sure what model

For flow I have a Red Sea power head that has variable flow all day

Alk fluctuations have been for a week and a few days

Currently dosing just mag to raise it in the past I dosed alk cal and continuing mag

Corals have been n there for about 2-3 months

It is a 100 gallon and I have only one green Chromis after a bad ich attack when we went on vacation we have about 20 frags and they are going owing rapidly not sure what is going on but I appreciate the help No one else has been able to help me. Thanks

The light may be part of issue as they offer LOW PAR. Dont believe ALK while moving is the actual issue.
Raise Mag slowly and up to 1350 range
