Why are my corals growing but not opening?

I would like to know why but also how my corals for the most part are doing great in the growth department but awful in the opening department.
I will attach some pictures of my frag rack of zoas, my mushrooms, and octospawn.
They all stay closed while the lights are on. I check on them every 20ish minutes and havn’t seen them open in weeks. I work from home so I’m always home during the day.
My mushrooms look all closed and shriveled but yet I see new ones on the frag sprouting. My zoa frags add aleast one new polyp a week; sometimes more. I’ve had them spread out in the tank and now on a rack together and they have stayed closed in both situations. My octo has great color like it always had but the tenticles used to be nice and open and spread when it had one head/mouth. Now that it’s splitting into two or three it barely extends the polyps.

Tank parameters:
Flow: moderate to low everywhere.
Lighting: heavy on the whites and the light blues but a little of everything.
CA: stable at 420
MG: stable between 1300 and 1350
KH: fluctuates from 7-12 but most commonly in the 8’s
SG: 1.025
PH: 8.2-8.3

Alk needs to stay within 0.5, 1 maximum dKH per week, that’s massive swings your having. You need to establish a dosing plan it sounds like.

I do dose Polyp Lap One. It keeps my CA and MG stable. It’s said to keep my KH stable at 7 but it’s not doing a bad job of it. It says to dose every day 5ml per 50gal and I have a 65g. I dose 2ml and that keeps both my MG and CA where I want them and stable. Will dosing the full 5ml fix my KH swings or will it be a waist of product?

I’m not sure. I dose 2 part, my alk is consumed more rapidly than my calcium. As my tank matured they started to evenout to a 1:1 consumption.

So are you thinking the corals are using KH to grow so well but in doing so creating swings in KH and thus making it undesirable for the corals to open?
