Hi all,

Just as the thread states, is there a reason for this?

Cheers

One reason is scolys don't frag well they get all funky shaped afterward and it takes along time for them to fill back out.

Also I think frag mortality is high.

Scolymia is a very colourful coral, and as per today’s market the more colour more $$$ they worth. They also impossible to fragment probably the reason the price is high but not as high as other corals that can be propagated

From what I was told the more desirable colors that usually come from (Homophyllia australis) Australia and the local governing body only hands out a select few permits a year, hence the limited supply.
