Why are the tank manufacturers so hyperbolic?

Some... I don't have a lot of rock in there and zero substrate. I'll buy OD though, that's a big change.

It gets more crazy when you get into a big tank.

Say 96x36x36 = 538g

But look at the actual volume of the tank - Assuming made out of only 1" material

94x34x33 = 456 Gallons - I took off an inch from each side for the material and an inch at the top for the water line.

So do you have a 540g tank or a 450......
