Oh, my question was not snails being wiped out, it was: in a tank environment why do we not see fast spreading diseases that can severely dent or wipe out an "invert" population like we do in fish.But yet they survive and thrive again. Nature gives them the tools to adapt. I'm sure snails have their own species specific diseases but it's probably not something that is studied in depth.
